53-76

It shocked me to know that a man can turn on his own race. The black man on the bus was very rude to the other two black brothers and the smart black guy was just such a liar when he was tryin to decide the race of griffens mother.

53-76

in this section of the book the part that stood out the most to me was the bus problem. i was shocked to see that a black man would be so rude to another black man. i could not understand why he would not let Griffin and all the other real black people of to use the rest room. i thought that all the blacks would stick together and try to fight racism not make it a bigger problem.

38-52

i truly don't like the way the whites treated griffin not one bit. one part that showed how evil a white person can be is when Griffin went into a shop to cash a check they absolutely refused to and the lady even knew him. also when he was in the greyhound bus station and wanted to buy a check the lady wouldn't give him a ticket because a 10$ bill was to big and then she threw his change at him. also when he couldn't even sit in the station he had to  walk blocks away to sit in a waiting room.

17-37 Black like me

In the book Black Like Me by John Howard Griffin there is a part when he goes to the black cafe where only black people are welcomed there. They had a very good conversation in the cafe with the owner saying how they can never overcome racism without coming together with the whites. The owner of the cafe doesn't understand how black people can go against there own race too. Also the owner kind of recognizes griffins name and questions griffin about it but would not believe that griffin was taking ownership of a whit mans writing.
